The Daihatsu Rocky is a jeep of the car manufacturer Daihatsu.

The car was built for the first time in February 1985 and loosened thereby the taffeta/Wildcat - the first vehicle of the mark Daihatsu, which was sold in Germany - of the series F1, F2, F5 and F6 von Daihatsu off.

It was offered to capacity and the F8 series (F80 short wheel base, F85RV long wheel base and F87 Pickup) with 2 litres petrol engine in the F7 series (F70 short wheel base, F75 long wheel base, F77 Pickup) with 78 HP of suction Diesel with 2,8 litres.

In long-proven jeep tradition the durable characteristics Starrachsen and leaf springs, in front and in the back, were taken over from the taffeta. Besides at the front axle a transverse stabilizer was blocked and at the rear axle a variable differential lock (a friction barrier in such a way specified), which serves driving safety in the area and on the road.

1987 the 2.8 litres diesel engine with a turbocharger re-tooled now 91 HP of achievement to furnish could. 1991 this engine again modernized in which it an intercooler and changed pistons got and thus the achievement on 102 HP increased and this engine was blocked invariably up to the attitude of production 2001. The achievement of the engine for the German (European) market on 98PS taken back under the employment of a recycling of exhaust gases, in order to keep the valid legal regulations.

The models were only insignificantly modified up to the year 1993 (headlights, grill, spare wheel mounting plate and tail lamps).

Starting from 1993 there was then a complete model change whereby the models F73, F78, F85 the models F70, F75 and F85RV replaced. Except the partial revised body the axle supensions were changed; the Rocky got independent suspension with double wishbones and Dehstabfederung at the front axle, in the back remained the Starrachse - however with coil springs and stabilizer.

2001 ran out then the production of the last long-proven jeep of Daihatsu. Quotation channelfour: "“It which quietly discontinued in 2002, A victim OF Daihatsu's decision ton style itself as A small car specialist; outdated as it which, the Fourtrak's death which quietly A shame in many ways."”
