Professor Dr. rer. nat. Daniel Bovet (* 23. March 1907 in new castle, Switzerland; " 8 April 1992 in Rome) was an Italian Pharmakologe. It received the "Nobelpreis for physiology or medicine "to 1957.
Bovet buildup as a son of the well-known psychologist, paedagogue and Esperantisten Pierre Bovet in two languages. After the study of the Zoologie at the University of Geneva and the doctor work (1929), it became first an assistant in the laboratory for therapeutic chemistry at Paris institutes the Pasteur and 1939 even laboratory leaders. Briefly after his marriage with Filomena Nitti, the daughter of the Italian statesman Francesco Saverio Nitti in the year 1939, Daniel Bovet the Italian nationality had accepted. 1947 it changed to Rome and became there a director chemotherapeutic laboratory in public health authorities. It exercised this office until 1964. Subsequently, he took over a Professur for pharmacology at the University of Sassari and from 1971 for the years 1964 to 1971 to 1982 a Professur for Psychobiologie at the University of Rome.
Bovet kept the Nobelpreis special "for its discoveries in connection with synthetic connections, which restrain the activity of certain substances in the body, and for investigations of their effect on the container system and the skeletal musculature "(in the original of the Nobelstiftung: "for his discoveries relating tons synthetic compounds that inhibit the action OF certain body substances, and especially their action on the vascular system and the skeletal muscles".). Already at the Pasteur Bovet had contributed institutes crucially to discovery of the Sulfonamide and had facilitated so the therapy of many infections. Into the 1950er years examined it the arrow poison Curare among other things and lived longer time among Indians. In experiments with Curare descendants he investigated the muscle-slackening effect of these arrow poisons and made her usable for the therapy. Further research work applied for the area of the Antihistaminika.
