David Botstein is an US-American Genetiker. It belongs to the Vordenkern of the genetics.

Life

Botstein enjoyed training in Harvard, the University OF Michigan, and became a late professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Botstein was concerned in particular with the application of genetic methods to understand biological functions. A request was it the Sequenzierung of the human gene COM.

1990 changed Botstein to Stanford. Together with Patrick Browne it examined yeast and tumor cells here by means of DNA chip.

Since 2003 are busy Botstein in Princeton.

For its scientific work it was distinguished several times.
