The term demeritorisches property designates a property, which is characterised by the fact in the economic science that it causes a damage from national or social view, why it is in the public interest to forbid or limit the consumption. The term can be distinguished from the meritorischen property, which is produced and/or inquired too few.

Demeritori goods rank among the impure public goods and can lead to the market failure.
