Deutschlandsender was one of the oldest German broadcasting stations. The name Deutschlandsender was from 1926 to at the end of 1993 used.

History

Weimar Republic and NS time

Deutschlandsender started its enterprise on 7 January 1926 in king Wusterhausen as Deutschlandsender I.

Deutschlandsender II began its activity on 20 December 1927 in Zeesen.

To 19. May 1939 started Deutschlandsender III in heart mountain its transmissions. The transmitting plant was destroyed and/or diminished 1945.

After the end of the Second World War

1947 took up the long wave transmitter (Deutschlandsender IV) its enterprise. As transmitting station first king Wusterhausen, late Zehlendorf served with Oranienburg.

1949 became Deutschlandsender (DLS) a radio broadcasting program of the broadcast of the GDR. It started at the 1. May 1949 with one for West Germany intended program, which was radiated over long wave (185 kHz) and short wave.

In the course of the centralization in the GDR in the year 1952, with which among other things also the five countries were dissolved, a change occurred also in the broadcast nature. In the meantime in Berlin upper beautiful pasture the new radio house Nalepastrasse had developed. From here starting from 1952 all broadcast programs of the GDR were radiated.

In September 1952 the DLS short wave was converted to the program Berlin I with political emphasis and the DLS long wave for the program Berlin II with the emphasis culture and society. But in August 1953 Deutschlandsender was already established again again. It radiated in the future an all-German program and was apart from long wave and medium wave also over UKW to be received. Editor-in-chief was 1953 to 1955 Erich same man.

On resolution of the national broadcast committee of 1971 Deutschlandsender with the citizens of Berlin wave was together put to the new program voice of the GDR, which started in November 1972.

In February 1990 voice of the GDR in Deutschlandsender was backdesignated and combined in May 1990 with radio GDR 2 to Deutschlandsender culture (DS culture), that to 1 January 1994 in the Germany radio (today: Germany radio) came up.
