With the term Dextrokardie (Rechtsherzigkeit), derived from gr. dexios = "right" and kardia = "heart", is designated into the Kardiologie a phenomenon, with which the heart constantly or temporarily is in that predominantly right instead of in the left chest cavity.
In the ICD10 for the diagnosis of the Dextrokardie the code Q24.0 is indicated.
A Dextrokarie can appear innately as consequence of a so-called Situs inversus, with which mirror-wrongly in the thorax or also generally speaking bodies all organs are put on. Also Dextrokardie can have resulted from a heart turn, approximately as consequence of a lung or a chest skin illness.
With some humans with syndrome (Trisomie 13) Dextrokardie is present, while the remaining organs are as usual put on.
