Diplom-Kaufmann (Dipl. - Kfm.) and/or diploma purchase woman (Dipl. - Kffr.) college graduates of universities and universities on an equal footing or specialized college graduates of the professional schools are called, which an economical field, as subsection of the economic science, to have locked and their respective study and test order the academic degree of a Diplom-Kaufmanns and/or a diploma purchase woman plan. Specialized college graduates must lead the academic degree with the additive (FH) for professional school. At national vocational academies a national conclusion designation can be attained as a buyer and as diploma operation manager (BA), which no academic degree is to be marked and accordingly by the additive vocational academy (BA). (Reference: There is not a Diplom-Kaufmann (BA).)

Condition for entrance

A marketing and management study at a university or a professional school sets the general university-level graduation (Abitur), the specializedbound university-level graduation or a comparable education conclusion (e.g. Specialized university-level graduation) ahead.

Structure of the study

The average period of study amounts to eight to ten terms. The study is divided into reason and main study. The basic study lasts three to four terms, the main study further four to six terms. According to Federal Statistical Office the actual study duration at universities within the range economic science amounted to on the average 11.0 specialized terms in the test year 2002.

Quite also two obligation to vote fan and only special management economics can be selected and been omitted auxiliary fan. A further name for special ones is special management economics.

Conclusion

The basic study ends with the Vordiplom. The main study ends with the academic degree of diploma purchase woman and/or Diplom-Kaufmann, which represents a first occupation-qualifying university conclusion of a single-step course of studies.

A good diploma is a condition for a graduation in an economiceconomics subsection (e.g. BWL, VWL, statistics, economical informatics, industrial engineer nature, restaurant economics). In exceptional cases also a very good FH-diploma is sufficient.

Austria

The degree Diplom-Kaufmann was lent in Austria to 1975. Here the abbreviation Dkfm read. Since that time one closes an economiceconomics study with the title Magister/Magistra (university), or Magister/Magistra (FH) (professional school) off.

Further countries

In the course of the years the Bachelor and/or master conclusions in the we shank sciences became generally accepted world-wide. Many students of the economic science profit from this systematic globalization, since they know the master conclusion at another university placing for example after their Bachelorabschluss. This procedure runs usually smoothly, since these conclusions are subject to a world-wide valid system, where all put down fan at another university are recognized automatically. The conversion of achievements furnished at different universities mostly takes place after the system of point of credit (ECTS). Many diploma courses of studies to the Dipl. - Kfm. were modularized since 1999 and concomitantly the credit, achievement or system of point of study were introduced. Historical development Diplom-Kaufmann

To "“it gives the conclusion Diplom-Kaufmann"” in Germany for approximately 1910. After the Second World War there was this degree in the Federal Republic of Germany and gives it it until today, it gave it in Austria and into the fifties also in the German Democratic Republic.

In the last years the diploma course of studies "“Diplom-Kaufmann"” is replaced with the gradated Bachelor Mastersystem (M.Sc or M.A.). Since 1999 a modularity takes place at existing diploma courses of studies, i.e. there are study-accompanying subject examinations, which are received with points of credit weighted into the final note. Also the thesis (diploma) can be weighted with points of credit.

Before was it like that that at the end of the reason and of the main study large intermediate and final examinations took place. Study achievements during the study were received rarely. The consequence is, from few very large examinations plus thesis (diploma), now many small examinations (quite 30 examinations/examinations/seminar work in each case in the reason and in the main study) became, plus making a thesis (diploma) (duration: 3 to 12 months; Weighting in the final note: 15% to 25%).
