Dominique Jean Larrey (* July 1766 in " 25 July 1842 in Lyon) was a French army surgeon and surgeon.
Larrey, which came of to a family of army surgeons, studied in Toulouse and Paris. Starting from 1787 it was active as a surgeon at the navy and brought it up to the Oberfeld large army of Napoleon I.
As a field surgeon it was concerned mainly with military developments. It is considered as a creator of a completely new war surgery. Larreys "flying military hospitals "were copied later by many other countries. The American mobile Army Surgical hospital (M.A.S.H) be based on Larreys Ideen.Zu its goals belonged it also of giving the hurt hostile soldiers comprehensive assistance.
