The donation goods test is a German consumer protection organization, which examines and compares goods and services of different offerers with the requirement of independence.
It was created after discussions for many years by a resolution of the Federal Government from 16 September 1964 (the Bundestag was correct on 4 December too) as donation of civil right.
Among their tasks on the one hand the comparison of objektivierbaren characteristics of the utilizable value, value in use and the environmental compatibility ranks, on the other hand the clearing-up of the consumer over economic housekeeping as well as health and environmentally conscious behavior.
By the high Bekanntheitsgrad the donation with its evaluations has a significant influence on the purchase behavior of the consumers. Good evaluations of the donation goods test often take a prominent place in the product advertising or on packing. On the other hand bad evaluations lead again and again to damage suits by the manufacturers - according to data of the donation on the average ten times annually, whereby so far none of these complaints had success.
The donation goods test finances itself by the sales of its publications as well as the magazines "test" (edition: 602,000 copies) and "financial test" (296.000) and by Federal Funds.
