Douglas Cecil North (* 5 November 1920) is economist and restaurant economics. It received 1993 together with Robert William Fogel to the Nobelpreis for economic science for its renewal of the economiceconomics research by application of economic theory and quantitative methods, in order to explain economic and institutional change.
