EANCOM is a Subset of the EDIFACT standard, which finds world-wide in the consumer goods industry use. From the EDIFACT message standards a subset of the turning ducks of segments was selected, which form the EANCOM message. As is the case for every other Subset one gave to the individual elements partially industry-specific meanings also here, i.e. the lists of the Qualifier, thus the elements, which became a following or a predecessor element semantically qualify, extended by industry-specific values.

EANCOM is the EDI variant of logistics minutes EAN128.
