The ecological free-market economy is the advancement of the social free-market economy. It combines economics and ecology, by making environmental protection possible with free market means and not, as in former times, exclusive with en and requirements.
So far environmental protection was considered as luxury, since environment was regarded as for an unlimited period available property. Environment is however a scarce property. In order to use existing resources ideally, the market forces must be used, which provide for the most effective employment. A condition for it is that the property environment has a price. Thus production methods, which load the environment more strongly, become less profitable. There are different possibilities of evaluating environment with a price corresponding to real market conditions. For example one can spend a limited number from licenses to the environmental impact, which can be acted like shares (environmental licenses). Also taxes like the CO2-/Energiesteuer (energy tax/eco-tax) are free market instruments of the environmental policy. Such a tax revision must be however arise neutral, in order not to let the tax burden rise still further (deliveries, taxes).
With respect to the model of the ecological free-market economy in principle between the environmental use on the side and the energy consumption on the other side one differentiates.
Central idea of the first column is about to quantify and transfer as tradable "product" into a market the use of the factor environment. The environment is not to be to the producing industry any longer free of charge than free property at the disposal, but become by national restriction of total quantity a scarce property. The factor environment receives in such a way what distinguishes all limited goods: a price.
The second column is the taxation of the energy and source of energy consumption. This, in particular for the collection of the private sector important tax, raises the price of the consumption of river, as well as unite secondary sources of energy (mineral oil, fuel oil, etc.). It becomes clear that thus also in principle between private and business environmental consumption must be differentiated.
The ecological free-market economy was developed at the beginning of the 1990er years by alliance 90/Die the Green.
