The Economic Diversification index (EDI) indicates the degrees to the economic strength of a state.

The EDI consists of the following criteria:

  • Portion of the industry of the gross domestic product (GROS DOMESTIC PRODUCT)
  • Number of the employed persons in the industry
  • Current consumption per head
  • Export orientation of the economy

The EDI is among other things a criterion for the classification to the LDC (Developed Countries leases).
