Economic system is the name for the political and legal form, in which gainful occupations run off within a state.

Carriers of the economic system in a democratic society are the state and the autonomy organs of the economy sanctioned by it. The economic system stands usually in close relationship with the financial and social politics.

Following developments have from top to bottom an increasing state ratio:

• Anarchismus
• Anarchokapitalismus
• Liberalism (see also economic liberalism)
• Neoliberalismus
• Keynesianismus
• Free economy
• Socialism

It is to be noted that there is no pure economic system, but arise different Unterformen mixed.

In the welfare state there is thus no definition on a certain economic system. The Federal Constitutional Court proceeds from the openness of the Basic Law regarding the organization of the economic system.

Theoretically all economic systems are approved, if they consider the single fundamental rights, which are held in articles 14 and 15 in the Basic Law: These articles guarantee the property of everyone, explain the owner however at the same time as socialrequiring. That means that an expropriation of the property is at any time permissible against remuneration, since the owner is obligated to it those to well-being of the public to social. The socialization of means of production and of reason and soil can become likewise permissible in extreme cases. Such an extreme case would mean the direct removal of war sequences: The owner is obligated then for example to accept refugees of homeland temporarily.

This restriction of the open economic system is based on the compromise between Social Democrats and not socialist parties.
