Edmund because (* 16 April 1879 in Neustadtl; "† 15 June 1922 in Prague) was a bacteriologist.

Because Prague worked there further and received to 1914 an appointment to extraordinary professor for hygiene after its study of the medicine at the German medical faculty of the university.

It already described 1911 in the Viennese clinical weekly revue (number 24, fol. 335) common with the neuro psychologist Viktor Kafka, which worked at this time as an assistant at the psychiatric hospital of the German faculty, an unknown bakteriologische reaction, which received the designation because Kafka reaction and/or

With Arthur Felix it developed a new checking method over the recognition of Rickettsien in the urine well-known for typhus fever illnesses, as because Felix reaction and for the first time in the Viennese clinical weekly revue of 1916 (number 29, fol. 33 one described).
