According to ISO 14001: the measurable achievement of an organization regarding the components of their activities and products, which can affect the environment.

These "“components"” are e.g. those activities, which produce emissions into the atmosphere, waste water, wastes etc. Environmental achievements play a role in connection with formal environmental management systems, with which organizations must commit themselves to a constant improvement of the environmental achievement, i.e. emissions, waste water, wastes etc. measurably to reduce to have.
