Ernst Gottfried Baldinger, (* 13. May or 18. May 1738 in Grossvargula "† 21 January 1804 in Marburg) was a German physician.

Life

From his father, an Evangelist minister intended for the study of theology, he referred 1754 the University of Erfurt. It turned however to a study of the medicine and studied in resounds later (Saale) and Jena, where it acquired 1760 the medical doctor degrees. With large applause it held private lectures on medicine and seized the resolution to habilitieren itself in Erfurt as a lecturer. During the seven-year-old of war it stepped as an army surgeon into Prussian services.

During this time he experienced the FE storage of gate gau along and attained 1762 the permission of its superiors for taking up its philosophical and medical studies again. Already on 30 April 1762 it had acquired and registered the philosophical Magistertitel in Wittenberg for further continuation on 14 October 1762 in the Leucorea. 1763 it establishes itself as a physician in Langensalza, from where it habilitierte itself 1768.

One became attentive on him not only by its practical activity, but also by its literary achievements. Therefore 1768 a call took place as a tidy professor to Jena. 1773 it was appointed to Goettingen and appointed 1783 by the land count Friedrich II. from Hessen Kassel to the conductor of the medical affairs of the country and the body physician.

1785 it followed a call as a first professor of the medicine to Marburg, where it worked benediction-rich. Thus during its time the anatomical theatre was again created converted, which botanische garden increases, a chemical laboratory, an institute for midwife and an animal medicine school were put on. After a restless life he deceased at Herzschlag.Baldinger ranked among the most important medical profession of his time. By its writings it aroused a sense for the study of the old classical medicine and for medical literature history with its contemporaries. Among its pupils were Justus Arnemann, Johann Christian God-dear field man and other one.

Its very numerous writings belong to different areas of the medicine, it starting from 1766 publishers of different magazines actively had been, in those it an abundance of historical and literary articles wrote. Its special interest biographic reports and literature history applied. In numerous opportunity writings of mixed contents he employed among other things critical investigations to the older medicine.
