The company Eszet - Staengel & Ziller - was a cocoa and a chocolate factory in (today a quarter of Stuttgart) in Baden-Wuerttemberg - from the initials of the two founders the well-known name "“Eszet"” developed.

History

  • The company was created 1857 in Stuttgart in the ford brook way, pulled then 1860 into the Olgastrasse and 1898 after to the goods station.
  • 1902 were built the salient Eszet building at Augsburger road 275 (today company Nord feather/spring).
  • 1975 are bought up the company Eszet of Cologne Stollwerck company and resumed from now on by this; Staengel & Ziller do not exist any longer.

Products

  • Cocoa powder in many variants was the speciality of Eszet.
  • Chocolate was manufactured in numerous remarks and Geschmacksrichtungen.
  • The most well-known product are Eszet cuts. Those are thin Schokoladentafeln, which are meant as lining for rolls or bread. Eszet cuts came for the first time 1933 on the market. Since 1975 they are manufactured of Cologne Stollwerck company. In former times with children very popular cuts since center of the 1960er years were displaced by nut Nougat creams such as Nutella, in the USA remain them to a large extent still high-desired (cult).
