The European Society OF Cardiology (ESC) is the European-wide lobby federation of the Kardiologen, which was created on 2 September 1950 on the occasion of the first Kardiologie world congress in Paris and its head office "“European Heart House"” in the Southern French Sophia Antipolis has. In the year 2004 it covered 47 national professional associations, 24 working groups, a scientific arbitration committee and over 37.000 individual members.

Structure

The congress taking place annually in European-wide changing cities is according to the meaning of the field of activity also according to German physician sheet over 25.000 expected participants in Munich (28 August - 1 September 2004 the largest medical profession forum in Europe. It is social EMS event and at the same time an industrial fair, which present newest trends and developments in the experimental and clinical Kardiologie.

Objectives according to statutes

Except the development of the Kardiologie the ESC serves the specializedscientific exchange, personal contacts and the quality assurance of the out and further training in the field of activity.
