The term expenses is used unexpected costs in German colloquially often of unexpected, used partly it falsely than synonym for costs. Likewise it can be used for displays. Commercial-economically seen there are no expenses, it exists excluding costs.

The prefix "“un"” serves a negation in German often for the education with nouns and adjectives such as independence, immutability, exorbitantly, unreasonably. In this sense expenses would be quasi yields. With the expenses it concerns however a so-called Augmentativbildung, which would like to strengthen something as particularly"” largely "“, or"” importantly "“, like also tempests or enormous amount. Often thereby a negative meaning swings also. Thus the expenses were considered in former times once as "“bad, unpleasant costs"”.

In the German linguistic usage is advised against to use the word "“expenses"” since it is as technical term stylistic not justifiablely and "“wrong German"”.
