Facilitation is a term from the organizational development and refers to the process of the organization and execution of successful group meetings.
Facilitation concerns itself with all aspects, necessarily is around a productive and impartial group process to be made possible. Facilitation serves thereby the group needs during decision-making processes processes. Neither it leads the group nor tries it to divert or maintain.
The Facilitator takes over first the task to prepare the group process. He finds out which intentions and goals for the process exists (possibly these are still not at all obvious). It arranges the suitable participant circle. He arranges a rough agenda suggestion and co-ordinates this with the potential participants. It guarantees that all participants enter before-informed into the group process - to thus know, why and to which "the topic" is concerned actively.
It leads then the group process in and on. Here it particularly pays attention to a goal-prominent process and keeps the process at running. It fixes results of the meeting by different documentation techniques and secures with it made agreements for the further process.
