Factory data capture (BDE) is a comprehensive term for the collection of various actual data over conditions and processes in the enterprise.

Kinds

One can differentiate between:

• production data relating to orders such as times, quantities, weights and qualities
• machine-related data such as running times, tripping time, manufactured numbers of items of a machine, messages and disturbances, user actions, consumption of material, energy and aids.
• material-related data, e.g. And outlet of materials.
• coworker-referred data such as posting dates for the wage computation, coming, going, interruption reservations. To it also the admission control belongs to the monitoring of the admission authorization of certain persons for certain areas or departments.
• Maintenance data (running times, switching cycles)
• Cafeteria data
• Tank data
• Further operational areas are temperature measurement in camp and production areas, immission values, consumption gauges (e.g. for flow rates), current consumption and peak demand of machines, switching frequency and running time of machines
• Feedback of works relating to orders with reference to individual jobs

Technical realization

The data acquisition is made central by workstations at central PPS systems, decentralized e.g. by means of workstations at decentralized BDE systems or control posts, by means of data acquisition terminals or via direct machine data collection.

Architecture of the BDE

The BDE is hierarchically developed. It consists of BDE machines, BDE Bereichsterminals, BDE Gruppenrechnern, which are tied up to a master computer by BDE interfaces.
