The German law over the central register and the educating register (federal central register law - BZRG) (BGBl. I P. 243) stepped to 18. March 1971 into force.

It regulates the laws for the guidance of the federal central register as well as the educating register and describes the information procedures over contents (e.g. Certificate of good conduct).

The federal central register law is a special law to the Federal Law for Data Protection, so that its regulations only apply Nevertheless also the BZRG had to be revised after the census judgement of the Federal Constitutional Court, since in this judgement substantial demands were made against the data processing.

In the future the federal central register from the scope of responsibility of the Chief Federal Prosecutor is to be transferred into the Federal Office for law, which can be created.
