The three local central associations on federal level in Germany, the German district day, the German city day and the German city and Districts organization united for the easement and coordination of verbandlichen co-operation under leadership of the German city daily for the Federal union of the local central associations.

In the structure of the Federal Republic of Germany form the districts, cities and municipalities the third level of public administrations. With federation and countries they have together that their will formation takes place in representative governments, which came out from general, direct, free, same and secret elections. This circumstances coin/shape also the work of the local central associations.

The central task of the local central associations consists of it, those the districts promoting cities and municipalities basiclegally guaranteed local autonomy exchange of experience maintaining and the common interests of the local bodies in relation to the state and the public emphasizing.
