The VOI federation of organization and information systems registered association is the German professional association of the offerers of products and services in the surrounding field of document management, electronic archiving and Enterprise content management. Seat of the federation is Bonn.

The federation is is the occupation and condition organization of manufacturers, offerers, system integrators, advisors and Dienstleistern for Dokumentenmanagement defines its goals as follows:

  • Promotion of the interests of the offerers of information technology (IT) within the range information logistics as basis for e-Businesses on national and international level.
  • Production of transparency of the market by creation of communication connections between offerers and users of IT.
  • Collection, order, production and spreading of qualified information to the IT, in order to present to the potential user this technology as optimal aid within the private and business sector.
  • Elaboration from standards to the creation of right security in the IT.
  • Promotion and execution from information meetings to this technology.

The VOI possesses five groups of regional and several specialized committees, among other things about electronic signature. From the work of the specialized committees among other things publications like e.g. the code OF Practice, which are usually provided by a group of technical writers and driven out in the self publishing house, follow. The VOI participates substantially in the adjustment of the annual DMS EXPO.

History

The VOI was created on the CeBIT 1991 information systems registered association optical of Ulrich Kampffmeyer as federation. 1999 designated itself the federation while maintaining the abbreviation in federation of organization and information systems over. The abbreviation VOI was interpreted in the subsequent years also as "“Voice OF information"”. It possesses an office with full-time managing director since 1998. In the year 2005 the federation had approx. 190 member firms.
