The flier designates a soldier without rank in Germany at the Air Force in the German Federal Armed Forces (see picture).

The rank flier exists also with the army aviators (HFlg). They do not carry no rockers at the rank insignias, but (like all army aviators after the general basic training) grey braids which with the silver braids of the cadets to be confounded should.

Other branches of service use own designations, like pioneer, Kanonier, tank hunter"…
