Franz Adolf Eduard cut (* 16. July 1834 in Bremen; " 30 October 1886 in the Oranje river in southwest Africa) was a German wholesale merchant and founder of the colony German southwest Africa.
Load-cut came already in recent years (1854 to 1859) to North America and transferred 1878 the tobacco business of his father to Bremen. At the beginning of of 1881 it put on a small factory in Lagos and assigned in January 1883 Heinrich bird-sang the establishment of a further in large Namaland. Bird-sang bought at the 1. May 1883 the bay Angra Pequena (late loading cutting bay called) and 5 miles country in the periphery of Joseph Frederiks in Bethanien.
On 25 August 1883 it purchased the whole country north 26. the southern degree of latitude up to the Oranje river at 150 km inland of each point of the coast off measured. In this way it set a substantial foundation-stone for the Kolonialisierung of Namibia by Germany.
Load-cut visited 1883 to 1884 the new acquisitions and retired the whole area on 6 April 1885 to a consortium, at which it held 16% participation.
Load-cut drowned at the delta of the Oranje river. The namibische city load-cut is designated after it.
