Franz Ernst (* 27 September 1697 in Marienthal with Helmstedt; "† 21. March 1753 in was a German physician.

Franz Ernst the son of an office man, studied medicine in Jena, where he 1721 received. After a journey to Hungary it was accepted 1727 to the German academy of the natural scientists Leopoldina and two years later to the Prussian Academy of Sciences to Berlin.
