Friedhelm gentleman man (* 1949) was considered as a renowned German cancer researcher, before he released in the year 1997 one of the largest falsification scandals in medicine history. Accordingly of the "“case of sin of the German research"” and a "“unparalleled scandal"” one spoke.

An independent Untersuchungskommision stated in the year 2000 that he broke together with his coworkers Roland Mertelsmann, Albrecht lime tree man, Marion and altogether 94 scientific work of approximately 400 in the area of the and the Onkologie with falsified data had published Wolfgang Oster.

One accused to the cancer researchers, between 1994 and 1996 systematically laboratory data falsified and at least four manipulated studies to have published. The falsifications only 1997 were discovered, when a scientific coworker from the working group of the two researchers contacted his doctor father and asked for assistance. Gentleman man and his former life companion and laboratory chief fallow, which had received high research funds for their experiments both from the German cancer assistance and from the German research council, are not only the results of own experiments to have falsified, but also ideas and results of other researchers to large extent have stolen.

Although the falsification of scientific data is actually not punishable, both cancer researchers stood nevertheless before court: In the year 2000 the public prosecutor's office raised both against Marion fallow and against Friedhelm gentleman Mr. accusation because of employment fraud. Both are to have submitted falsified work with their application on the University of Ulm and deceive so the appointment commission.
