Friedrich Daniel of Recklinghausen (* 2 December 1833 in " 26 August 1910 in Strasbourg) was a German pathologist.
From Recklinghausen medicine at the universities of Bonn, peppering castle and Berlin studied in the years 1852-1855. it, only its doctor title acquired 1855. Subsequently, it studied 3 term pathological anatomy with Rudolf Virchow. 1858-1864 he was an assistant at Patholgi Institut in Berlin.
1865 he received his call as a professor for pathological anatomy in king mountain. From 1866 to 1872 professor at the university was peppering castle and from 1872 to 1906 at the University of Strasbourg of Recklinghausen. There he was starting from 1877 also a rector of the university.
From Recklinghausen was concerned first with the haemochromatosis and introduced this technical term into the medicine. it showed 1862 that are drained by lymphatic vessels and therein cells (Gewebsmakrophagen) to occur, which it assigned correctly to the leukocytes. It justified the method of the silver colouring to the proof of cell connections and created the bases for the later work Julius Friedrich Cohnheims (1839-1884), which at that time young assistant was, to the leukocyte migration and inflammation.
To peppering castle the meaning of bacterial infiltrates in blood vessels pointed for the first time from Recklinghausen. In Strasbourg it was concerned particularly with the pathology of the heart circulation system. it wrote the classical article to 1881 over the Neurofibromatose, which is designated after it Neurofibromatose type 1 (Neurofibromatose Recklinghausen, Recklinghausen illness).
