Friedrich Gustav Jacob Henle (* 19. July 1809 in " 13. May 1885 in Goettingen) was a German Anatom, pathologist and a physician. He is the discoverer of the late Henle loop designated after him in the kidney.
Henle was born on 19 July 1809 as a son of an outstanding Jewish buyer family in Because of the missing development possibilities for Jewish children in Bavaria the family moved into the Rhine country. Jakob Henle studied medicine in Bonn and Heidelberg.
After the graduation 1832 he became an assistant and pro sector in Institut von Johannes Peter in Berlin. 1840 were appointed Henle as professor for anatomy and physiology to the University of Zurich. There it held a lecture on fabric teachings. It was considered as a master at the microscope and got the recent science going of the Histologie crucially.
1844 followed the call to the University of Heidelberg after the second tidy chair for anatomy and physiology. Here its manual of the rational pathology developed.
Henle took over 1852 the line of the institute for anatomy of the University of Goettingen. There, researched and taught he lived up to its death in the year 1885. In the year 1855 it published its famous manual of the systematic anatomy of humans.
Henle made a crucial contribution also for the anatomy, Histologie and pathology of the suprarenal body crust by the development of the colouring with chrome-sour potash solution 1865.
Henle coined/shaped the terms contagium vivum and/or contagium animatum and concomitantly the theory of micro organisms as a cause of infections. Accordingly the basic rules of the definition of a pathogen, are the Henle cook postulates, designated after it and his pupil Robert cook.
Into the literature Henle found 1854 by Gottfried of cellar novel the green Heinrich entrance.
A Gedenktafel was attached already 1888 ago at its earlier Wohnhausin Goettingen and removed 1942 in the NS time because of its Jewish origin again. After the war the Gedenktafel was again attached.
