Friedrich Robert Kretschmann (* 20. May 1858 in Wolmirstedt; "† 8 November 1934 in Magdeburg) was a German physician and a secret medical advice. It justified the forerunner of the HNO hospital Magdeburg existing this very day.

Life

After the attendance of the Victoria of High School in castle (with Magdeburg) Kretschmann studied starting from 1876 in Goettingen, and resounds (Saale) to medicine. 1881 he put the state examination down and attained a doctorate in resounds with a work "“over the Angioma arteriale racemosum"”.

Kretschmann stepped first a place as an assistant at the medical hospital into resounds with Theodor weber on. It took place here the training as the practical physician. 1884 changed Kretschmann and the university ear hospital in resound and became there an assistant of the well-known ear physician Hermann Schwartze. In this time various scientific work in the area of the ear medicine took place. 1887 were made the Habilitation about at the upper pole of the drum skin by the Processus brevis the hammer, their pathogenesis and therapy"”.

1888 established itself Kretschmann as an only ear surgeon in Magdeburg, held however still until 1890 also lectures at the university resounded. Kretschmann justified 1888 in Magdeburg the neck nose ears department of the urban hospitals, to which the today's university clinic for neck nose ear medicine Magdeburg decreases/goes back.

In the year 1905 he was appointed the Medizinalrat. He rejected the offer as professor and a director of a hospital for ear medicine after king mountain.

Kretschmann belonged to the medical society to the initial members of the society of German neck nose ear physicians and was member of the board of many years, for 2 years as a chairman, to Magdeburg. From 1910 to 1914 it held together with Paul Manasse the editorial line "“archives for ear medicine"”.

During the 1. World war, Kretschmann was a specializedmedical advisor of the IVTH army corps, it the general upper physician and royal one Prussian medical advice was appointed.

In the year 1928 became Kretschmann honour member society of German neck nose ear physicians and the medical society Magdeburg.

The city Magdeburg designated it in honours the Kretschmannstrasse.
