Friedrich Theodor of Frerichs (* 24. March 1819 in Aurich; "† 14. March 1885 in Berlin), was a German internalist and optician.

Frerichs studied medicine at the University of Goettingen from 1838 to 1841. After its graduation he worked four years as an optician in Aurich, however 1846 returned to Goettingen, where he habilitierte himself. it finally followed 1850 a call to the University of Kiel, 1852 to the University of Breslau and 1859 as a successor of Johann Lukas beautiful flax to the in Berlin.

Emphasis its research work was metabolic procedures of the liver and kidneys, the appropriate illnesses and their diagnostics.

After it the Theodor Frerichs price lent by the German society for internal medicine is designated.
