Friedrich Wegener (* 7 April 1907 in Varel; "† 9 July 1990 in Luebeck) was a German pathologist. It described 1939 a systemic Vaskulitis, which is called for the 60's Wegener' Granulomatose.

Wegener was born in Varel as a son of a physician. It studied medicine in Munich and Kiel. Afterwards it became an assistant in Institut for pathology of the University of Kiel. It followed 1935 Professor Martin Staemmler after Breslau, after this had received the chair for pathology there.

Wegener described for the first time 1936 a case of Rhinitis and kidney failure. In the year 1939 it published this and further cases.

In the Second World War arrived Wegener first as a armed forces pathologist after Litzmannstadt in occupied Poland.
