The company Fujisawa was a Japanese medicament enterprise.

In the year 1894 Tomokichi Fujisawa in Doshomachi/Osaka opened a small pharmaceutical business under the name Fujisawa Shoten. From this business 1943 the Fujisawa Pharmaceutical CO develops. Ltd.

In the year 1962 Ltd. becomes with the Fujisawa Pharmaceutical CO., (Taiwan). the first overseas address after the Second World War based. This address becomes 1994 in Fujisawa Taiwan CO., Ltd. umfirmiert. 1977 of the Fujisawa Pharmaceutical corporation the first address take place in the USA with the establishment. 1979 are opened the Londoner office.

1983 acquire the company Fujisawa a minority participation at the blade Pharma GmbH in Germany. In the year 1988 the majority participation is acquired, 2002 are renamed the enterprise in Fujisawa Germany GmbH.

1990 become the Fujisawa the USA, Inc. based and the company Lyphomed, Inc. taken over.

1991 are created in Germany the Fujisawa GmbH for the European business. 1998 a restructuring of the American company, from that the company Fujisawa Healthcare, comes Inc. comes out.

2001 is restrukturiert the European addresses, which Fujisawa GmbH established as European Headquarter.

In the year 2004 a comprehensive restructuring of the business takes place in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In the same year at the company Yamanouchi plans are decided to a friendly assumption of the company Fujisawa. To 1 April 2005 the negotiations for a merger are locked and the new enterprise Astellas is created.
