Pierre Guattari (* 30 April 1930; "† 29 August 1992 in Paris) was French psychiatrist and Psychoanalytiker.

Guattari buildup under relatively secured conditions in a workers' suburb of Paris, was affected early of the ideas of the institutional and selected around 1950 the psychiatry then in an impetuous fermentation process as its subject. In this time it was strongly affected of the work of Jacques Lacan, whose Analysand was he until 1960, whose theoretical Elaborationen it met however with a certain distance. The numerous political activities and commitments, by which and the 60's 50's were characterized, flowed 1965 into the establishment of the F.G.E.R.I. ( of the groupes et de recherches institutional) and the magazine Recherches, and 1968 into the active participation in the events of May '68 (Daniel Cohn Bendit, Jean Jacques Lebel, Julian Beck etc. met starting from March 1968 regularly in the restaurant of the F.G.E.R.I.). It was in connection with these revolutionary procedures that it became acquainted with one at the University of Vincennes Gilles Deleuze - for both crucial meeting. Four famous books came out from co-operation with Deleuze, i.e.:

• Anti- (1972, dt. 1974)
• Kafka. For a small literature (1975, dt. 1976)
• Thousand plateaus (1980, dt. 1992)
• Which is philosophy (1991, dt. 1996)

Likewise with Deleuze together it was based 1987 the magazine of , like already the Recherches, apart from philosophy and the psychiatry of mathematics, the Ethnologie, the psychoanalysis, the architecture, for which education opened etc.

Main thought

The large topic of Guattari - and the theoretical background for the important role, which it played in the anti-psychiatric motion - was the question of the subjectivity: "“As it lets produce, seize for itself, enriches themselves and to invent continuously again, in a way, which can be made compatible with the value university verses understood in How can one work on its release, i.e., to its All disciplines must fold up their creativity, around the wounds of the Barbarei to heal"…"” Starting point for the development of answers to these questions, above all Guattaris both last alone written books (it see below) are dedicated to which, is the fundamental thesis from the anti- that the Delirium and the insanity are "“unconscious bringing in of a historical-social field"”.
