General of the paratroopses was a military status in the armed forces.

In the German states Prussia, Bavaria, and Saxonia, furthermore in Austria Hungary, Great Britain, Russia, Spain and Japan gave it to traditionally four statuses for generals (in ascending order):

  • Major general,
  • Lieutenant general,
  • General of the Kavallerie, infantry or artillery (and in the armed forces correspond also the general of the paratroopses, as well as for example the general of the armored troops)
  • Colonel general

over it (usually only in times of war lent):

  • General field marshal, (called in some countries only field marshal or marshal).

The general of the paratroopses (- Kavallerie, - infantry, armor branch or - artillery) the instruction usually was over an army corps (Kommandierender general) or a equivalent high office entrusts.
