George Clemens Perthes (* 17 January 1869 in Moers; " 3 January 1927 in Arosa) was the discoverer of the disease Perthes.
Perthes lost early its parents by Tuberkulose. After a school time in Moers and Bonn the branch of the scholar family Perthes up to its graduation studied 1891 in Freiburg in mash gau, Bonn and Berlin medicine. A time followed as an assistant at the surgical hospital in Bonn. 1898 habilitierte itself Perthes in Leipzig, where he had followed its teacher Friedrich Trendelenburg.
1900/1901 he worked as an army surgeon in China, 1903 became it an extraordinary professor and director of the surgical health center Leipzig. it changed 1910 to where it, apart from a time as an advisory surgeon during the First World War, remained up to its death.
