George Clemens Perthes (* 17 January 1869 in Moers; "† 3 January 1927 in Arosa) was the discoverer of the disease Perthes.

Perthes lost early its parents by Tuberkulose. After a school time in Moers and Bonn the branch of the scholar family Perthes up to its graduation studied 1891 in Freiburg in mash gau, Bonn and Berlin medicine. A time followed as an assistant at the surgical hospital in Bonn. 1898 habilitierte itself Perthes in Leipzig, where he had followed its teacher Friedrich Trendelenburg.
