The German industrie and Chamber of Commerce day (DIHK) is the controlling body 81 German industrie and of the Chambers of Commerce and thus a protection of interests. It has the right status of a registered association. Members of the DIHK are the Chambers of Commerce and industrie, which bodies of the public right are. Seat of the DIHK was from 1949 to 1999 Bonn. Since 1 October 1999 the DIHK has its seat in Berlin.

At the point of the DIHK a president stands. Since 1949 the following persons held this office:

  • 1949 - 1954: Dr. Alfred Petersen
  • 1954 - 1956: Hans Hammerbacher
  • 1956 - 1958: William Vorwerk
  • 1958 - 1962: Alwin
  • 1963 - 1969: Ernst Schneider
  • 1969 - 1988: Otto Wolff of Amerongen
  • 1988 - 2001: Dipl. - engineer Hans's Peter Stihl
  • since 2001: Ludwig George brown
