Gottfried Roth (* 7 January 1923 in Retz, Austria; "† 1 January 2006 in Vienna) was a Austrian physician, specialist for neurology and psychiatry and professor for Pastoralmedizin.

Life

Roth was born 1923 in the down-Austrian Retz. After the end the Second World War studied it medicine at the University of Innsbruck, today: Medical University of Innsbruck and University of Vienna. one attained a doctorate to 1952 Roth. It completed its specialist training in neurology and psychiatry at the universities in Berne, Innsbruck and Vienna.

From 1971 to 1977 he was university lecturer in Pastoralmedizin at the University of Vienna. it changed 1977 as a lecturer in Pastoralmedizin at the philosophical-theological university holy cross. Since 1979 Professor Dr. Roth at the philosophical-theological university pc. was active.

Besides was Gottfried Roth from 1990 to 1996 professor for Pastoralmedizin to international church academic Institut Rolduc in the Netherlands.

From 1985 to 1996 Roth engaged itself in the Krankenseelsorge as consul gate of the papal advice for Pastoral in the patient service. With establishment of the papal academy for the life (Pontificia Academia pro Vita) in the year 1994 Roth was academy member. Roth engaged itself besides with the knight medal from the holy grave to Jerusalem.

For the 1970er years was Gottfried Roth editor-in-chief of the magazine "“physician and Christian"”, the official news sheet of the catholic Austria, whose joint founder and president of many years were he. Gottfried Roth was also member of the executive committee of the international combination for religion psychology and religion sciences.
