The Grilletta is the East German modification of the Hamburgers.
For preparation a round or oval roll (differently than with the Hamburg one with knuspriger crust) is warmed up cut open, at the planes of section, a Bulette from Schweinefleisch is inserted and added Chutney or Ketchup. Further ones added do not belong to not.
The Grilletta, like also the Ketwurst, was invented by coworkers of the HO TV tower in Berlin around 1977. With their assistance the visitor quantities of the Alexanderplatz, for which the capacity of the surrounding restaurants was not sufficient, should be supplied better can. Instead of Ketchup for the Grilletta a sweet-sour Chutney was often used there, which had been touched in the self-service restaurant in the city hall passages.
