The Group Executive Committee (GEC) is a central governing body of corporations, particularly spread in the anglo British area. It consists of the members of the enterprise executive committee (Chief Officers) and the directors/conductors of important core business fields (Business Heads).

Germany

The German law governing share transactions knows the executive committee as line organ of an AG only, also from the supervisory board ordered executive committees. Since the Businesses Heads are appointed however by the executive committee, that can be settled GEC officially only under the executive committee. Also is substantially clearer the chairman GEC, the Chief Executive Officer, the central guidance person of the enterprise, while the chairman of the board in the executive committee can be quite outvoted. First GEC in Germany was furnished 2002 by the German bank.

Examples of further enterprises with a Group Executive Committee are Asea Brown Boveri and Puma.
