Gustav of miner (* 24 December 1878 in peppering castle, "† 16 September 1955 in Munich) was a German internalist.

He was the son of the surgeon Ernst von Bergmann as well as the father of the and curator of many years of the FU Berlin Fritz von Bergmann Gustav of miner studied medicine in Berlin, Munich, Bonn, and Strasbourg, where he attained a doctorate to 1903. Until 1912 he worked afterwards in the IITH medical hospital in Berlin under Friedrich Kraus (1858-1936), with whom it could habilitieren itself 1908. 1916 he became full professor for internal medicine in Marburg and 1920 in Frankfurt/Main; starting from 1927 he was a professor to the in Berlin and from 1946 to 1953 in Munich.

Miner researched particularly to the stomach intestine ulcer (petisches Ulcus), blood high pressure (hypertonus) and vegetative nervous system.

He assisted Emil von Behring during his last night before his death.

With different colleagues miner gave of the manual of the internal medicine (1925-1931), eleven-restrained from 1925 to 1932 the monumental, in 25 single volumes appeared, formally to manual of the normal and pathological physiology the second edition, that under his leadership in the third edition on 16 volumes increased out as well as at the same time and in fourth after the Second World War on 18 volumes.

When professor of the internal medicine in Marburg, Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich gave Gustav of miner far beyond its field of activity medical thinking new impulses, by creating the bases of the Psychosomatik with its "“functional pathology"”. It is therefore considered as one of the fathers of the psychosomatischen medicine.

The Gustav of miner medal designated after it is the highest honor of the German society for internal medicine.
