Hellmuth Felmy (* 28. May 1885 in Berlin; "† 14 December 1965 in Darmstadt) was a German general in the Second World War.

Felmy hit a military career. On 18 October 1904 he finally became wo1, on 18 August 1905 second lieutenant, on 21 January 1913 first lieutenant, on 24 December 1914 captain, on 1 January 1927 major, on 1 October of 1933 Colonels, on 1 January 1936 major general, on 20 April 1937 lieutenant general and on 4 February 1938 general of the fliers.

During the First World War Felmy flier officer was and others leader of the flier department 300, which carried the pointed name "“pasha"”. The department flew to Palestine. As a "“by-product"” the "“flight archaeology"” developed for military clearing-up activity (clearing-up photography), since antique buildings from air appeared clearly, while they were not to be recognized from the soil. During its time in the Near East cut Felmy - together with a comrade - the British fresh water line"… the British expedition corps had short term supplying problems.

1940 he was a boss of the special staff F (elmy) for anti-British subversion in east Near East 20. May to 20 June 1941 led Felmy (special federation Felmy, general command for special use for desert fight) the German military mission in the Iraq, which failed however. The intended support of the anglofeindlichen Putschisten Raschid Ali aluminium Gailani failed. Gailani fled to 29. May 1941 into Iran.

Felmy transferred then from 21 June 1941 by 11 September 1942 the for south Greece and later further military guide functions in the German army. There it received the instruction the Akropolis to destroy, it however refused.

After end of war he was accused in the processes 1948 as a war criminal and condemned to 15 years detention (because of procedures from his time in Greece). It became on 15 December 1951 from the detention to however already dismiss. In Darmstadt he was a chairman of the tradition community old person eagle.

Hellmuth Felmy is the father of the German actor Felmy.
