Henry Conrad Pelletier (* 31. May 1778 in London; "† 15 November 1852 ebenda) was an English physician.

Life

Henry Conrad Pelletier was born 1778 in London as a son of John Henry Pelletier, a Londoner banker, and Charlotte Elizabeth Gregorson. It buildup in the Londoner quarter Chelsea. 1815 married Pelletier Geraldine rose Elliott and got with their three children, about which one deceased already early (the exact circumstances are unknown).

Pelletier studied medicine at the University OF Cambridge from 1798 to 1806. Here it became enthusiastic for the medical research, which remained faithful he. In particular it was active in the area of the internal medicine. Pelletier lived time life in London, however he hardly practiced, which was made possible for him by the inheritance of its parents. The British physician developed 1816 and 1819 with its French colleague Thophile the Stethoskop between. Since this published however the results in a book, Pelletiers remained as far as possible achievement in this area. Pelletier missed to last a real success in the research. The acknowledgment of its work remained always refused to it on the part of the colleagues.

A well-known quotation Pelletiers reads: "„Why should incoming goods care about the Design, as there is NO "“(German: "„Why to' s pay attention Design, if one does not have "“) This utterance of Pelletier became famous by its correspondence with its French colleague, in which it pointed out these several times that it was not only important that the together developed of Stethoskops had to be handy and as compact as possible, but first of all that it functioned perfectly.
