Herbert Lewin (* 1 April 1899 in Schwarzenau; " 21 November 1982 in Wiesbaden) was a president of the Central Council of the Jews in Germany.
Lewin studied medicine and worked afterwards in the Jewish health center in Berlin. From 1937 to its Deportation in the concentration camp he was a Chefarzt in the Jewish hospital in Cologne. Its wife died in the concentration camp. After the end of the national socialism in Germany Lewin remained in the country and exercised again its learned occupation as a physician. Between 1963 and 1969 he stood at the point of the Central Council of the Jews in Germany.
