Hermann Holthusen (* 22 September 1886 in Hamburg; "† 7. May 1971 in Hamburg) was a and professor at the University of Hamburg.

Holthusen studied 1920 in Heidelberg, Berlin and Munich, attained a doctorate 1911, habilitierte themselves in Heidelberg. He taught starting from 1922 in Hamburg and became 1924 ao. Professor, 1939 o. Professor, was a leading upper physician, then Chefarzt of the radiological department of the general hospital pc. George in Hamburg. In the last years before its retirement (1957) it led the hospital as its medical director.

Holthusens scientific achievement consisted of measuring the dosage of the Roentgen irradiation in such a way that irradiation damages were avoided with the radiotherapy, for example in the to a large extent. - 1955 he was appointed the constant honorary chairman of the German Roentgen company.

Holthusen was married since 1919 with Agnes the daughter of Heinrich professor for history of art; the pair had 3 sons.
