Herophilos of Chalkedon was a Greek physician, that around 300 v. Chr. in Alexandria taught and as the most outstanding Anatom of the alexandrinischen school applies. The first scientific sections at humans are attributed to him.

Further it justifies the science of the diagnostic importance of the pulse with heart diseases and designed a bag water clock to its measurement. It differentiated one of the bases as one the first Arterien and Venen, for the later discovery of the Blutkreislaufes.
