The IATF (international automotives task Force) is a "“purpose-specific"” working group up from representatives of the car manufacturers and automobile federations builds themselves and concerned with the setting of tasks for the improvement of the product quality for automobile customers world-wide.

The IATF was created for the fulfilment of the following tasks:

  • Development international consent over the fundamental demands for square meter system - primarily for application at the participating companies, direct suppliers of production material, spare parts and working on services (e.g.: Thermal treatment, surface treatment and coating). In addition, the compiled demands are to be put to other interested users in the motorring industry at the disposal.
  • Development of guidelines and instructions for procedure for the world-wide application of a uniform 3rd party of certification procedure.
  • Supply of a suitable training program for the support of the ISO/TS 16949 demands and the appropriate certification procedure.
  • To support development of official relations with relevant organizations around the goals of the IATF.

IATF members are: BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford, General of engine (inclusive. OPEL, Vauxhall), PSA Peugeot Citreon, Renault SA, Volkswagen and the following automobile federations: AIAG (the USA), ANFIA (Italy), FIEV (France), SMMT (UK) and VDA-QMC (Germany).
