An idea circle is a form of the "“in-plant working group"” for the treatment of problem fields and/or for fathoming new development ideas. The concept comes of to the production world of the automobile industry.

These meet on freiwilliger basis in taking place discussion rounds and compile so new solutions and/or participate in their implementing.

An idea circle justifies a complementary line to other divisions and for a limited life span is called up.

From this form of operational co-operation the quality circles developed later.
